This is currently the song stuck in my head thanks to Pandora:
Welcome home by Radical Face
And this Alice Donut trombone cover of the Pixies Where is My Mind gives me a yummy makeout session flashback.
Last night was another edition of craft night with my friend Laura. I don’t know why we call it “craft night” when we pretty much just work on sewing projects, but regardless of what it’s called I finished altering a skirt I had picked up at a vintage store for $2 or something like that. It was a full circle skirt that was too big for me. I decided to make it an A line skirt. It came out kinda janky, but pretty good for my first time trying something like this. I’ll be wearing it, even though it’s not perfect. It’s charming that it’s not perfect, right? ; )

The shoes I’m wearing above were one of the items I got from LA Vintage.com from a gift certificate I won from the fantastic blog Chronically Vintage. Thank you Jessica!!! What else did I get with the $100 certificate, you ask? This super cute dress:

Today I went for a walk and came home convinced I needed a haircut. I don’t have money for a haircut, so I went at my locks with a pair of scissors and voila! It came out pretty darn fine in my opinion. Looks like cutting my own hair will be in my future.
Tonight I performed at Mortified, where you read from your old diaries. I wrote on facebook today, “Reading from my 5th-8th grade diaries tonight and tomorrow night at The Makeout Room as part of Mortified. I’m also minutes away from chopping my hair off. The outcome might be equally as mortifying as some of the 11 year old MVN diary entries I’ll be reading from tonight.” Luckily both the show and the hair came out smashing!

My grandmother was a gifted quilter. On my list of things to do before I die, making a quilt is on the top of the list. I saw this quilted vest, thought of my grandma and then thought of who made such a beautiful thing. Apparently it was made by mother. The tag says so, “Made with love by Mother.” I had to have it. $8 and it was mine.
