Mary Van scalloped shorts DAAAMN!
Scalloped hems have been on my mind ever since I saw Alexandra Grecco’s designs on Hannah of Hannah and Landon. And then just last Wednesday Calivintage posted a healthy dose of scalloped shorts inspiration. I had a pair of thrifted shorts in my altering pile that I was originally going to just shorten the hem, but I was amped… scallop AMPED! I found some helpful tutorials online that helped me figure out how I would accomplish this. And the shorts came out pretty well. I even made a tie belt out of the extra fabric. There are definitely mistakes (I’m still a sewing newbie) but I’m pretty happy with them. Behold the before and after picture, followed by two looks (night and day).

This is SO CUTE and a much cheaper option to buying scalloped shorts at say, Urban Outfitters. I’m in love <3

Those are great! And to make them yourself…WOW! I’ve been wanting ruffle-hem shorts and have seen a few brands. I’m just not sure if I could pull the look off.
