Cabin Day Two (treehouse edition)

On day two, my boyfriend and I explored the neighborhood and found a rad treehouse.  What a childhood dream come true!!!  My boyfriend builds and designs zoo exhibits and has a contractor’s license, so I’m sure one day he’ll build me something even better.  But until then, there’s trespassing and harmless photo-shooting.  (Sorry this post is going to be photo-heavy.  Too many awesome treehouse pics!!)

Doesn’t it look like I’m in never-never-land in the movie Hook?  My boyfriend skateboards, too, so he could totally pass as one of the lost boys.  Seriously, that treehouse is so amazing.  But what’s more amazing than that?  Before I went to the cabin I looked through a knitting magazine I have from 1950.  I wanted to find a new project I could get started on. Lo and behold I found an advertisement featuring the same design from the hand knit suit I’m wearing above.

1950 "asymmetric stripes" geometric knit

AGHHHHHH!!!!  So special!!!!!  Some lovely woman saw that ad, wanted that outfit, and then MADE it.  I can’t tell you how happy I was to find that ad.  It kills me.

And now for the outfit details:

    First…cute boyfriend! You make a darling couple…

Second…incredible dress & hat! I totally understand your excitement in finding an ad with the exact design of your knit suit. I’ve got a big stash of vintage magazines and catalogs and am always trying to make connections between the ads and the the things I buy.

    Have a great weekend!

Every child´s dream is to have a tree house or somewhere to dream away.
Love the pics. I am amazed at the similarity of the dress you are wearing and the one in the magazine. I do not believe in coincidences. You are just connected to the godssssssssssssssssssss.Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Un abrazo my dear, dear friend!!!!

@ Jan Thank you! I figured I should get some pics of the photographer that day. He is handsome! I’m a very lucky girl.

@Sarsaparilla Thank you! I know it makes the clothes seem more real and authentic to see them in old magazines like that. So special! Makes me want to look at old magazines more!

@Sacramento I know!!!!!! What a magical place! And I thought that too. It was too special of a coincidence to just be a coincidence!

These photos kick ass. How awesome you found a tree house! God I love coming across things like that. I have a huge love for finding structures that are seemingly abandoned. Its so much fun, also love exploring old places, which is one of the perks of being a paranormal investigator, I get a lot of that.

That’s awesome your boyfriend does exhibits for the zoo. My great grandpa did that too! At the same zoo I worked at for four years in high school. I was a volunteer zookeeper, it was the best, I worked with tigers and everything, but for some reason i’d always work with the goats, they were my babies.

Love your outfit in these photos too! Perfect camping outfit!

Oh my goodness, seeing that ad would have made my day! Love the suit – the whole shoot looks like it is straight out of a magazine.
