los angeles!
Did a jaunt to LA last week. It’s been too long since I’ve been there last! I’m looking forward to my next trip down there because there’s just too many people I want to hang out with!

On this trip I managed to hang out with the lovely Marie of Agent Lover. We hit up the gourmet diner Lucky Devils and then went to the Mortified show I was on. She surprised me with one of her Heart Tart Cake hats! It happened to go with my outfit perfectly so I of course wore it instantly. I love it! I also got to meet her friend Emi who owns a really cute shop in LA called The Pygmy Hippo Shoppe. I’m looking forward to visiting it next trip.
Heart Tart Cake hat: Agent Lover
60s celluloid flower and rhinestone necklace and bracelet: Sacramento Antique Fair
Dress: Macy’s
Heels: Delia’s
vintage purse: found
In addition to hanging out with friends and me performing on some shows, Ben and I visited a few zoos in the area, some of which we’ll be posting reviews of over on his blog. Ben builds and designs zoo exhibits, so this LA trip was part Zoo Business and part Show Business!
Of course I had to act like a tourist and take a photo of this Hollywood star:

I’m envious of your little topper, it’s the perfect accessory for your black & white outfit! I went to USC so I lived in LA for 4 years… I really miss it; sadly I haven’t been to that diner you mentioned (sounds good though). I also never made it to the zoo when I was there, am eager to see the photos.

Hi, did you hit up any vintage shops whilst you were there? If so, can you recommend any? I’m making my first trip to LA in September and am so excited!

@ Marie I LOVE U! Can’t wait for July!
@Shauna. I unfortunately had no time for vintage shops this trip, which was actually for the best because I’m so broke. But I’m wishing for some money in my pocket when I’m back there in July to visit my favorite shops like Shareen Vintage http://www.shareenvintage.com/ and Hollywoodland Antiques – which I can’t find a website or address for but I wrote about it here: http://maryvannote.com/blog/2009/12/01/mary-van-daaamn-17/

Um, I apologize if I just came off as a creep at the Burmese restaurant when I introduced myself, but seeing that we actually have friends in common like the sassy-amazing Agent Lover, I don’t feel so weird being a fangirl. It was nice to meet you and I look forward to seeing you at the Purple Onion or some other show very soon. – T.
