Saw this video via Rob Huebel and had to post it here. This guy’s drum kit has flames on it because he’s on fire!
Watch the drummer the whole time. The dude totally cracks me up.
The awesome Charlyne Yi. This video completely resonates with me right now. I’ve been struggling with drama surrounding an ex-boyfriend, and I’m torn up with emotion, like I’m split in two. I want you guys to know that’s why I haven’t been posting, haven’t been myself lately. I’m working on feeling better though. I really want to thank the people in my life who love me unconditionally. You mean so much to me.
I thought I’d share some of my recent favorite vids. The first being Chris Garneau’s music video for “Fireflies.” It’s like live action RPG mixed with a little Neverending Story.
And this Louis CK teaser is so great. I’m such a fan of his.
I love his old short films like this one with Ron Lynch and this one with Craig Anton and Laura Kightlinger.
And Fall in Love moment of the day!! Look at what my boyfriend brought me as a surprise:
We’re so perfect for each other! I’m sorry, I know it must be sickening. But how adorable is this?
He’ll be taking the sea foam green one to his house, and the pink one will stay with me. We’ve already decided in our future home together our bathroom will be those colors and the counter-top will be sparkly formica.
Freestyle skateboarding is becoming a lost art. And yes, art is what it is. By the looks of the following photo, you’d think professional skateboarder Kilian Martin was a professional dancer.
Of course I was as impressed with the 50s style as I was with the skating itself. I found both the photo and video via hepkitty. Makes me happy to have a skater boyfriend. Now, if only I can get him to skate in cute colored socks and a tucked in sweater.

Jesse Thorn from The Sound of Young America and Adam Lisagor from Lonelyandwich have a new web series called Put This On. It’s a web series for men about dressing like a grownup, and as a complete fan of men who dress well, I was instantly enthralled. I even took away some great tips on how to care for my leather boots in the episode on shoes. There’s also a tutorial in this episode that will change your life forever:
The series finale features the ever-impeccably dressed Gay Talese and even a Nerd Boyfriend segment.
Watching Gay Talese reminded me of some of the fabulous older women who inspire me to dress remarkably and well. Much like the women in this video:
Don’t these videos just make you excited about fashion and life? I love it!

I just have to share my latest youtube obsession. My friend Nick introduced me to the funniness, the absolute oddity of the man, the unique character, Wild Bill Fire Hands.
Now first watch this video to get a sense of this guy. You’d think he was one of the characters on Tim and Eric. (BTW NSFW)
He’s a performance artist/spoken word performer/musician. And he’s one of those precious souls who doesn’t realize how funny he is. Watch this video where he boasts of how long he has been lighting his hands on fire while he accidentally lights his hair on fire.
And the crème de la crème is this scene from an upcoming documentary of Wild Bill trying to make a music video by scaling down a building on some rope while also trying to play guitar, sing, and of course, light his hands on fire. Major kudos to the director for capturing such amazingness on film. I can’t wait to see the documentary.
