Nicole and I went to the SF Friends of the Library book sale at Fort Mason last weekend. She posted some of the fun we had over on her blog. Here’s some more images:
my outfit:
40s playsuit, 60s watch necklace: ebay
top: Buffalo Exchange
vintage sandals: Bows and Arrows, in Sacramento CA
Isn’t Nicole’s outfit to die for? I wore shorts from a 1940s playsuit I recently won on ebay. It’s a shame I found it at the end of summer, but who says I can’t lounge around in it at home when I want to feel glamorous?
40s playsuit: ebay
scarf: Vintage Pink in Portland, OR
70s couch and painting: was my grandmothers. I pretty much recreated my grandma’s house in my living room : )
And here’s some of the loot I scored at the book fair:
I went up to my family’s cabin this weekend. I paired the shorts from my 1950s playsuit with an amazing 50s hand-painted blouse I got from Nicole of Fashion Forestry. The blouse is incredible. The collar and sleeves are filled with talking horses and inside jokes for whoever “Cordy” was.
50s blouse: Fashion Forestry
50s shorts: Junee Moon Vintage
sandals: Bows and Arrows in Sacramento, CA
I had a great time at the cabin, but it’s good to be home. I just posted a couple of vintage treasures in my Etsy shop.
and a 50s blouse:

It’s my friend Nick’s birthday on Friday so we celebrated it last night with an amazing dinner, pineapple upside-down cake, and some archery on the wii. It was also a jam-packed day of great times with friends. I met my good pals Uni and Her Ukelele and Griffin Point for breakfast, and then walked around downtown doing some Halloween shopping with Nicole before heading home for the birthday dinner. I didn’t even realize it, but the outfit I wore really mimics the kind of fun day I had, with all the colorful people in my life. Awwww! That’s stupid sweet!

30s blouse: Fashion Forestry (can you see the adorable little donkeys on it?)
50s skirt and cardigan: thrifted
western motif scarf: Vintage Pink in Portland, OR
shoes: john fluevog
purse: found on the street
And now for some b-day yummy cake pictures and me, Ben and Nick acting silly pictures!

That last pic of Nick makes me laugh like crazy. Happy Birthday Nick!
I’m finally excited about fall. I know, I know… it took me awhile. What can I say? I live in San Francisco and we didn’t get much of a summer. When fall began I was left yearning for sunny days and barbecues, laying on beaches in vintage swimsuits and lounging in playsuits. But when I got a load of clothes from Nicole of Fashion Forestry, I was stoked. A new assortment of vintage and modern pieces were mine and I was excited to wear them out. This outfit was one I was thinking of long before I put it on. Looks like it might be my quintessential Fall 2010 look.
